HAPPY ACCIDENTS?
While doing my BEAUTY series my model brought her daughter along. While Salome, my model, was changing clothes her daughter, Rebecca, got in front of the camera and started to dance to the music in the background. I found it spontaneous and fun. I took advantage of the situation and simply started to photograph her moves and her long blond hair simply flowed. I was happy that Rebecca was able to simply let loose and allowed me to capture her in such a bright light. Let me know what you think?
OH! and I added a little watermark there :) Any pointers on that????

I really like the energy in the photos. You can tell the girl is very happy and active and that is nice to see. The only thing with the watermark is that when it moves to different places in the photos, it becomes distracting. Try to keep it consistent in placement, size, and style. If it moves about too much or into the wrong place on the image, it feels amateur. (just one of my pet peeves) I always try to do mine in the bottom right corner because it is the last people people tend to see when they look at an image so they have the opportunity to take in the full image before seeing my logo. I do like the style of your logo though. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry, all I could think of upon initial viewing is the Will Smith's kid "I whip my hair back and forth" song. Was that playing?
ReplyDeleteAs for logo, similar to Hayley's comment, consistency of size/placement is key. To be quite honest I'm not certain of what Perry has told you all regarding watermarks but there is a lot of insane excessiveness going on in the photo department of this school. If it's a watermark, it (99% of the time) fades into the image with transparency, that's where 'watermark' gets it's name from, it is found -in- the paper, not stamped on it. Less is more, you could get away with ACRC without the 'photography' word.
Execution-wise I would say your logo is a bit noisy, as script typefaces cause this, but it does evoke a style, I would be curious that if you want to mush the letters tightly together, than really go after it to make a mark.
But to the matter at hand, yes, the photos are fun and some kids are really great at letting loose in front of the camera, happy accident indeed!
Cool set of photos. All this accidents can be apply and maybe you should think on use them for your beauty project. Its another kind of beauty and they show lot of energy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the feedback. I'll keep it all in mind and try for something more subtle next time for the watermark :)
